Syed Husain was a member of a rival terrorist group to Abdul Habaza. He willingly let himself be captured and taken to a federal prison so he could spy on Abdul, later becoming Abdul's right-hand man.
Husain was present when Abdul made Sam Hanna and Mowahd Dusa members of his gang after they were brought to the prison.
Abdul swiftly moved to recruit Sam, not knowing that Sam was actually an NCIS Special Agent but Abdul became suspicious when a bribed prison guard told him that either Sam or Moe was the mole.
His suspicions confirmed, Abdul and his men later killed Moe and Husain before confirming that Husain had indeed been from a rival group.
