Sam's former adopted son is found dead at the end of this episode, having been tortured and hanged. Moe's death leaves Sam greatly devastated and hell-bent on revenge against the man responsible.

This is one of the few episodes in which Sam Hanna and G. Callen don't work as as a team. This is mainly because of Callen's private reasons and Hanna's own reasons for his undercover mission.
